The Service Project Manager drives initiatives to ensure new product introductions (NPI) serviceability at the time of launch. This role interfaces with engineering, project management, product management, sourcing, and other functional groups within the core project team. The Service Project Manager facilitates NPI Project Functional Lead meetings to identify and resolve potential roadblocks and identify escalations if needed to ensure service offerings are met in accordance with the Generac Development Process (GDP) schedule. The Service Project Manager coordinates project core team tasks to the technical publications group, the customer experience team, the technical service representatives, parts teams, and the training team (i.e. train the trainer) as well as performing service design reviews to ensure optimal serviceability and safety while providing the voice of the customer to the development project team.

Major Responsibilities:

Supporting the program manager to ensure all inputs and outputs of service tasks are completed in accordance with the project Gannt chart.

Provide in-depth understanding of service requirements and KPIs.

Consolidate multiple subject matter experts (SME) inputs to create business service strategy for NPI projects.

Participates in the Product Review and Resolution (PR&R) process which includes: Identification of product quality issues in the field and qualifying the scope of the issue and reporting pertinent data to the PR&R team for root cause analysis and final resolution in a timely and cost effective manner.

Participate in the Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) teams.

Help implement activities on planning processes to assist program Key Stakeholders with delivering key milestones in the program.

Assist in handling the Service Parts Phase In/Out action plan.

Creation of service part numbers and service parts kits to be released within Windchill and SAP.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Work Experience

3 years project management in product development or related technical experience

Experience working on a technical cross-functional project team

Experience within a technical field such as Service, Hardware and/or Systems engineering

Strong troubleshooting skills

Preferred Job Requirements

Experience using Windchill or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software

Experience working on a technical cross-functional project team

Experience within a technical field such as Service, Hardware and/or Systems engineering. Strong troubleshooting skills.

Experience working with quality improvements/problem solving using 8D/DMIC/PDCA phase methodologies and supporting tools

Experience in project leadership or driving new product introduction (NPI)

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Solid knowledge of engine maintenance to include air cooled, liquid cooled units, gas, diesel, LP, and natural gas fuel systems

Strong foundation of basic mechanical and electrical (AC/DC) fundamental theory

Proven customer service ability

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis skills

Ability to work with large volumes of process data and statistical methods

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and possesses a level of functional expertise necessary to influence and execute technical and project delivery.

Physical Demands

: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
