Description

Overview:

A Kolter Hospitality Senior Sales Manager works with management throughout the hotel and the Company. They deliver service excellence to guests and customers by listening to their needs, analyzing information, and creating tailored proposals in a pleasant and professional manner. This position is responsible for negotiating and closing sales while exceeding sales targets.

Performance Expectations:Solicit, negotiate, and confirm new and repeat business through initiative-taking direct sales calls, sales blitzes, appointment calls, trade shows, site visits and marketing to maximize revenues to meet/exceed individual, team and hotel budgeted revenue goals.Fully qualify business potential, ensuring pricing aligns with budgeted revenue goals.Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop quarterly and annual action plans for the assigned market segments to achieve goals.Continually stay on top of market trends and news by reading CoStar, Business Journals, industry periodicals and by engaging in networking events.Professionally represent the hotel by participating in client and industry functions.Demonstrate the ability to work with maximum efficiency, accuracy, and diligence.Research competing hotels, prospects, and network to surface business and conduct shops to assess pricing and sales acumen, to include sales selling techniques and responsiveness.Respond to all leads within the assigned market segment within 1-4 hours during the business week.Lead communication efforts - contracts, proposals, site inspections, pre-cons, BEOs and Group Resumes, maintaining positive communication with all departments in the hotel, including Revenue Management, Reservations, Rooms, and F&B outletsMeet clients upon arrival and prior to departure to ensure all details of the contract are being delivered.In a timely, accurate and consistent manner, document and track all sales activities in the sales system used on property.Confirm groups, meetings, and payments are taken care of before the event, ensuring all guest checks, payments, master folios and advance deposits are submitted to accounting.Follow up with clients after each event to ensure satisfaction and to secure future business.Demonstrates leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and coach the hotel team to always be selling.Report to work on time, well-groomed and in and in professional attire, representing the hotel, brand, and company in a positive manner at all times.Follow all safety procedures while working.Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing

Qualifications

General Requirements

:

Exhibit computer skills to include Microsoft Office™, and familiarity with property Management System(s),

Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors both verbal and written.

Ability to design and prepare statistical reports and presentations as needed.

Ability to accurately report information.

Ability to assist with various accounting department tasks as needed.

Report to work on time and in professional attire.

Minimum of 2 years hotel sales experience with preference given to candidates with brand sales certifications.

Experience selling to multiple market segments and verticals, including Group, BT, and Catering Sales.

Physical Demands: Lifting 20 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, talking, hearing, seeing.

Environmental Conditions: Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered "inside" if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside.

Math Skills:

Requires mathematical development to: Compute discounts, interest, profit and loss, commission, markups and selling price, tax, gratuity, and percentages.

Language Skills: Must have developed language skills to the point of being able to: Read newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals. Write business letters, summaries and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style. Participate effectively in discussions and debates. Speak extemporaneously on a variety of subjects.

Other:Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certifications.Occasional travel required.Other duties may be assigned.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to include weekends and holidays to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
