In this role, you will assist in scheduling, coordinating, and managing software releases across the enterprise for multiple applications and product teams. The releases can be inclusive of full system software updates, configuration files, and other release artifacts as needed. The role involves planning and coordinating software releases for both production, factory retrofit software and OEM factory software, ensuring alignment with satellite capabilities globally to provide seamless in-flight customer experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software release management, with experience in production support, DevOps, and working with cross-functional teams.As we continue to grow globally this candidate will help coordinate software releases and help drive software release strategies to align with commercial mobility architectural updates. This person will also help coordinate the software release process across new global coverage areas over the next two years while managing the demand of new customer introduction.The day-to-day

Manage and execute software release tasks for production software, includes VS and Legacy Inmarsat production SW, factory retrofit, and OEM factory software.Plan and coordinate software releases in alignment with global satellite capabilities to ensure efficient operation and coverage for in-flight customers.Collaborate closely with product management, airline programs, development, testing, quality assurance, and software configuration management teams to ensure timely and successful software deployment.Act as the primary point of contact for software release activities, ensuring clear communication between all stakeholders.Work alongside the S&P SW release team to produce all workflow products, guaranteeing timely delivery to aviation customers.Participate in release meetings, prepare release readiness reviews (RRR), and assist with Go/No-Go decisions.Create and maintain release documentation, including Software Release Notes (SRN), Software Change Descriptions (SCD), and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR).Develop and manage documentation for development and deployment progress, including schedules and scope changes.Establish and maintain a Software Documentation Hub to centralize all relevant information for release planning and delivery.Coordinate with development and test engineers to assess the impacts of bugs or changes on planned releases.Provide post-release metrics and analysis to drive continuous improvement in the release process.What you'll need

5+ years of experience in software release and delivery management, production support, and operational support functionsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field or equivalent years of experienceProven experience managing complex technical projects from inception to deliveryExperience working with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, preferably across multiple regions (USA, Europe, India)Knowledge Jira automation and query languages (SQL)Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlinesExcellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skillsMust be able to come into our Germantown, MD or Carlsbad, CA officeWhat will help you on the job

Experience with product lifecycle management tools such as Oracle Agile PLMFamiliarity with software development methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD process.Experience with the GIT source control systems and ArtifactoryKnowledge of Release Orchestration, JenkinsExperience creating software delivery performance metrics and dashboardsBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a technical fieldExperience with ITIL standards

Salary range

$101,100.00 - $148,900.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $125,600.00- $175,800.00/ annually
