Our wireless modems network seamlessly and have the unique ability to livestream video from the underwater world.We are seeking an embedded software engineer, passionate about digital signal processing and eager to join a tight-knit team on a mission to push the envelope on Earth's final frontier. You will be working with industry-leading experts to help develop and test acoustic-wave based modems, undersea drones, and other cutting-edge maritime systems. An ideal candidate should be comfortable collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers and non-technical users.WHAT YOU'LL DODevelop and maintain mission-critical code, including core components of our modem's firmwareImplement advanced algorithms and architectures for acoustic signal processing, optimize for efficiency, and ensure correctnessCollaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to define and coordinate system interfacesDevelop and carry out hardware and firmware tests, define test procedures for series production, troubleshoot and repair system issuesOpen to feedback from others from all levels of the organizationTake responsibility for bringing tasks to completion and meeting schedulesKeep up to date with emerging technologies and research in relevant fields to help inform engineering and design decisionsActively work to improve the culture and communication within the entire engineering organizationREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSB.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related disciplineExpertise in programming languages including C/C++ and assemblyKnowledge and hands-on experience in signal processing theory, algorithms, and implementation techniques (filters, transforms, etc.)Experience drafting technical documentationStrong written and verbal communication skillsU.S. PersonPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSProficiency in developing DSP software for real-time systemsExposure to machine learning algorithms, ability to debug and optimize models for integration in embedded platformsExperience with analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, e.g., low-noise amplifiers, analog-to-digital converters, and integrated analog-front-endsFamiliarity with sonar and/or undersea technologyBENEFITSCompetitive compensation and equal pay commitmentEquityFlexible working hoursContinuous professional trainingThe estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 per year.
