S:US is seeking a
Employment Specialist
for our womens shelter located in Manhattan.
This position is located at
205 West 135 Street New York, NY 10030.
The
Employment Specialist
provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Familiar with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the community residence program and agency policies
Provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. visits clients in their home and other settings required.
Familiar with OMH regulations
Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services
Provides aid and assistance through all phases of the vocational service provision
Performing routine clinical services as a member of the Team
Responsible for charting client services
Responsible Vocational portion or all of creating the service plan
Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the team members
Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change
Advocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible
Responsible for creating a monthly spreadsheet with names of tenants and their employment status
Follow-up quarterly with all employed tenants
Assist with making monthly contact with tenant as needed
Participate in bi-weekly monthly meeting
Participate in monthly supervision to address any work-related tasks or concerns
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to assist adults of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Evening hours are required.
