Description8a – 5:30p / Full Time / 40 Hours

The

Director of Pharmacy Technology and Practice Innovation

is responsible for leading the development and implementation of innovative pharmacy practices and technologies. This role will oversee the integration of cutting-edge technology, optimize medication management systems, and spearhead initiatives that enhance patient safety and healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

a. Provide strategic direction and oversight for the operation, management, and delivery of pharmacy technology and practice innovation. b. Identify opportunities for innovation and develop strategies to implement new technologies and practices. c. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and improve clinical outcomes.

Technology Integration:

a. Lead the integration of advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and RFID into pharmacy operations. b. Oversee the implementation of autonomous pharmacy services and automation solutions. c. Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards related to pharmacy technology.

Practice Innovation:

a. Develop and implement innovative pharmacy practices that improve patient care and operational efficiency. b. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the pharmacy department.

Collaboration and Communication:

a. Work closely with IT leaders, pharmacy staff, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of technology and practice innovations. b. Communicate effectively with team members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to promote and support innovation initiatives. c. Provide mentorship and guidance to pharmacy staff to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy practice, with a focus on technology and innovation.

Proven track record of leading successful technology integration and practice innovation initiatives.

Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards related to pharmacy technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

PGY1/PGY2-Health System Pharmacy Administration or Pharmacy Informatics 2.

Experience with AI, machine learning, and RFID technology in a healthcare setting.

Advanced certifications in pharmacy practice or healthcare technology.
