The VP, Engineering is responsible for productivity and delivery of web-based development programs for assigned products. They hire, develop and coach associates on an ongoing basis. The VP, Engineering serves as the Netsmart technical leader on multiple, significant Netsmart modules or products. They are recognized as a technology and solution visionary within the organization.Responsibilities:Maintain a fully high-functioning and accountable engineering and operations team.Strategize for and set business operational objectives, business requirements, product roadmaps and related technical specifications. Oversee completion of team and organization goals, strategies, and budgets.Interact with clients in the necessary product areas.Effectively and routinely review reporting on operational metrics and status. Make plan changes as needed depending on metrics.Document performance. Includes obtaining input from other resources. Take corrective action when needed.Plan and direct the organization's activities to achieve stated/agreed targets and standards for financial, quality, engineering, and operational performanceContinuously improve skills/knowledge of programming languages, tools, department standards and development industry practices.Plan and direct the organization's activities to achieve stated/agreed targets and standards for financial, quality, engineering, and operational performanceDrive improvements in internal processes. Monitor improvements for effectiveness.Develop and implement strategic business plans to provide for long-term business growthManage and Provide Technical guidance to a team of engineersThis position is onsite in Overland Park, KS.Qualifications:Minimum:Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience10+ years programming leadership experience building web and cloud-based enterprise software products leveraging Angular, Java, .NET, SQL & Postgres, or specialized training combined with experience.5+ years of demonstrated experience in an ability to see the broader picture of impact of developed processes.Must understand general development industry standards and practicesPublic Cloud and DevOps ExperiencePreferred:Must be able to read, understand, and develop code for web and cloud-based programming.
