Starkey Hearing is hiring a Sr Manager NPI Sourcing at our global headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. Are you looking to join a team that helps better others lives? You will lead our Technical Sourcing team to provide cross-commodity Sourcing/Supply Management leadership for New Product Introduction teams and/or Technology and Research programs to help create the next generation of hearing aids.

Job Summary Description/Primary Purpose of Job

Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) Sourcing team to provide cross-commodity Sourcing and Supply Management leadership for NPI teams and Technology and Research programs. Represent Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain management as a focal point on these teams. Ensure the integration and execution of top-tier supplier engagement processes to meet time-to-market, cost, quality, and innovation goals, all in alignment with Category strategies, while effectively mitigating risks. Develop team and internal processes to deliver NPI excellence from an operations, supply chain and sourcing perspective, across the full lifecycle including Research, Technology, and New Product Development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership and Team Management:

Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing NPI Sourcing team to ensure successful product launches that meet business objectives, alignment with technology roadmaps, and best practices.Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support the professional growth of team members.Lead the NPI Sourcing team in providing cross-commodity Sourcing leadership to NPI teams and Technology and Research programs.Establish KPIs to measure and adjust team strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Develop strong partnerships with Commodity Managers, Engineering, Program and Project Management, Manufacturing, SIOP, Purchasing and Finance to ensure cohesive execution of new product programs.Foster effective communication with internal teams and suppliers to build long-term relationships and support project success.

Supplier Engagement & Development:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring they are aligned with the company's strategic goals and can meet the demands of new product introductions.Lead early supplier engagement to influence design concepts and specifications for purchased components, optimizing quality, cost, manufacturability, innovation, and supply chain efficiency in line with sourcing category strategies.Encourage a diverse supplier base to ensure innovation and competitiveness.

Program Management:

Ensure each product employs a comprehensive tracking sheet (early Bill of Material) to manage a "Plan for Every Part" (PFEP), delivering key milestones, stage-gate deliverables, and component-specific goals on time.Coordinate material availability for each product, from prototyping through production ramp-up.Serve as liaison between Engineering and suppliers during new component development.Manage product costs throughout the NPI process, ensuring cost targets are met without compromising quality or performance. Lead and challenge NPI product design choices in search of cost reduction opportunities.Serve as the focal point for Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management within NPI teams, facilitating regular program communications and alignment with stakeholders

Strategic Planning & Execution:

Collaborate with the NPI community to establish technology roadmaps that identify future needs and drive proactive technology scouting and supplier technology sharing forums.Conduct risk assessments on NPI product components and suppliers and develop and execute contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply.Proactively provide component and supplier recommendations and alternatives to NPI projects; lead NPI development teams in implementing dual-sourcing strategies.

Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement:Promote process excellence and continuous improvement through the development and implementation of standard work and documented processes for supplier selection, engagement, and management, and supply risk mitigation throughout the product lifecycle.

Operational & Compliance Responsibilities:Ensure budgeting for and the timely acquisition of tooling, prototype, and pre-production components.Manage the AML/AVL and RoHS/REACH records for NPI projects in support of our Quality Management Systems.Support Starkey's Employee Corporate and Departmental Guidelines, including corporate health and safety objectives.

JOB REQUIREMENTSEducationBachelor's degree in engineering (preferred) or business, supply chain management, or other technically related fieldMasters degree in business, supply chain, or other technically related field desired

Experience8+ years of component design, manufacturing, supply chain and/or operations experience3+ years engaging with new product development preferred5+ years direct engagement with third-party management and technical personnel preferred2+ years program/project management experience preferred

Knowledge/Technical RequirementsStrong understanding of new product introduction processesStrong understanding of supplier engagement/management best practicesWorking understanding of electrical, mechanical, microelectronics assembly, contract manufacturing, industry processes, capabilities, and supplier base
