We are looking for a IT Field Support Technician to support client operations at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) location below:
Work Locations: (Anacostia Depot) - 3500 Kenilworth Avenue Hyattsville, Maryland 20781 (Temple Hills Depot) - 8444 Temple Hill Rd. Temple Hills, MD 20748-5523 (Gaithersburg Depot) - 111 W. Diamond Avenue. Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877-2108 (Lyttonsville Depot) - 2501 Lyttonsville Road Silver Spring, Maryland 20910-2053
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (three days in‐office and two days telework)
The IT Field Support Technician will provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, cloud services, hardware, and software.
Work Description: IT Field Support Technician operate and maintain computer systems and networks to ensure End-Users receive effective IT Services.
Duties / Responsibilities
Serving as the first point of contact for IT support for WSSC Depot Installing, configuring and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems
Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues
Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components
Ensuring the security of clients and server computers by installing and upgrading antivirus and firewall software
Supporting people whenever they encounter challenges with computers and network devices
Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly
Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation
Education: High School degree or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
General Experience: 2 Years + IT field support experience
Specialized Experience: Experienced in Active Directory, Windows OS, SCCM, ITIL Methodologies
Skillset: Computer Hardware Repair: 1 years (Preferred) Technical support: 1 years (Preferred) Software troubleshooting: 1 years (Preferred) Strong customer service skills
