SAIC is seeking a Personnel Security (PERSEC) Specialist in Arlington, VA to support the Army National Guard (ARNG) and the broader military intelligence community.
Note: This role requires physical presence on site at the Army National Guard (ARNG) Temple Army Readiness Center (TARC) facility at 111 South George Mason Drive, Arlington, VA with hours 0730-1600. Telework is available per the direction of the government supervisor.
Job Duties:
Under the direction of the OIS-A Activity Security Branch Chief support the daily operations of the Personnel and Information Security program by managing security products for civilian, military and contractor personnel for ARNG personnel at the TARC facility.
Process Visit Authorization Requests (VAR) (incoming and outgoing) and security clearance verifications through the Defense Information Security System (DISS).
Process DD 2875 System Access Authorization Requests (SAAR) for access to all Army system networks
Conduct in processing and out-processing actions
Determine the suitability of applicants who require security clearances.
Review, input, and process background investigations; Notify military, civilian and contractor personnel who are required to complete periodic investigations.
Review and determine potential security clearance requirements for Top Secret upgrades and security clearance access for all personnel assigned to the installation.
Utilize Microsoft and various security database management tools such as Defense Information System for Security (DISS), PSIP, NP2 portal and FTMSCS.
Complete all training required to access the security database management tools.
Remain current with Army and DOD established security policies and procedures.Provide suggested methods and execute standard operating procedures in accordance with Arlington Hall Station guidance for personnel in/out processing.
Maintain confidential security files and forms for TARC personnel.
Screen building access applications
Coordinate with the other TARC security stakeholders to ensure security training requirements are met.
Assist with annual Security training requirements
Document processes, provide guidance, and assist in resolving security issues.
Assist with inspection preparation to include Command Cyber Readiness Inspections and Inspector General Inspection.This includes assisting with preparing administrative documents required for the inspection.
Maintain the accuracy, security, and privacy of different types of Controlled Unclassified, classified, and sensitive information
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s and six (6) years of experience; Master’s and four (4) years of experience.
Required Security Clearance:
Active Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Required Skills:
2 + year experience with using the Defense Information Security System (DISS).
2+ years’ experience with of Army Regulation 380-67: “Personnel Security Program” and DoD Manual 5200.02: “Procedures for the DoD Personnel Security Program (PSP)”.
1+ year experience with Intelligence Security Directive 704: “Personnel Security Standards and Procedures Governing Eligibility for Access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and Other Controlled Access Program Information”
Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
