There are no limits to where you can take your career.Job SummaryResponsible for the leading the development and maintenance of the manufacturing definition and Manufacturing Engineering related activities within the Program/Project through its lifecycle to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem solving skills. The CME leads the multi functional Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team that is as the primary representative for (ME) at all program / technical reviews & externally (with customer & suppliers). Will ensure the manufacturing system meets stakeholder requirements including; technical compliance; adherence to Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) standards and compliance business case (including quality; delivery and cost). Accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling, part fabrication and assembly within the wider project deliverables. This scope is specific to a work transfer scope within a new facility in Garden Grove, CA.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop technical solutions to complex problems. Delivery of a manufacturing system that fulfils all stakeholder requirements including; Safety, Logistics, Quality, Producibility & Business caseResponsible for technical leadership of manufacturing system development and integration for production. Resolve issues pertaining to vendor schedule and/or quality.Leadership of deployed manufacturing engineering team; accountable to the Program or Project Manager for delivering Program technical objectives to meet project milestones & deliverablesBuild a Process Control mind-set within the deployed engineering team and ensure compliance to Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) standards.Accountable for product development and planning, new product quotes, tool fabrication quotes, first article development, configuration changes that involve cost estimation, schedule coordination, build process definition, and implementation. Supports Make v Buy activities.Responsible for the implementation of tooling and or production planning, from original concept through to production. Design these processes with a high degree of process capability utilizing the GKN standard ZDM tool suite to demonstrate as such.Lead engineering teams to deliver measurable, metrics driven results in line with Program goals.Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workersContinuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiativesSupports technical reviews (internal & external) as requiredContinuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
Job Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related fields of study.10 (ten) years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, which includes experience managing New Product / Process introduction (industrialization) & existing production process improvementsWorking knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000Working knowledge of LEAN processes and practices.Fluent in English language, both written and spoken.Prepared to travel domestically and occasionally internationally; Expected travel

Preferred QualificationsProject / Program Management Professional Qualification.Familiarity with AS9145 APQP process or equivalent.Has experience with NPI (New Product Introduction), a start-up facility, and/or a work transfer in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Manufacturing Engineering in aerospace.Ability to influence people, build trust and establish effective working relationships within a global organization.Sets challenging goals by identifying possible ways to improve performance.Understands situations by analyzing them logically and uses information in a systematic way identifying appropriate course of action for resolution. Fully appreciative of the limits of their experience.
