As a field-based underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating, assessing, and pricing risks while leading profitable growth for our agency partners in your territory.Starting Pay:
The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $152,000 annually. Our competitive compensation package is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities.Be ready to:Underwrite: Analyzing risks, pricing, negotiating, and making informed decisions on commercial businessMarket: Selling & soliciting of business across all the business units available within the territory to build a strong, diverse agency relationshipDevelop the territory: Leads territory in strategic plan development, ownership, and execution of enterprise-wide growth and profit within territory, including new agency appointmentsLead agencies: Achieves deep relationships with and understanding of each assigned agency relationship to build a diverse and profitable portfolio, delivering on our vision to be the best company serving independent agents by consistently being present within agency officesProvide leadership: Partners with and leads other field disciplines within designated agency relationships to ensure their success by communication, support, and collaboration with team membersResearch the market: Stays updated on industry trends, market conditions, emerging risks, primary competitors, and effectively communicates and makes informed decisions based on this informationQualifications:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to work independently and make sound decisionsWillingness to travel and visit agencies within territory regularlyStrategic business plan development skillsPassion for leadingA valid driver's licenseBachelor's degreeProven experience in underwriting, a minimum of 2 years of multiline commercial underwriting experience, more than 3 years preferredRelevant insurance industry certifications (e.g., Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), professional selling) are a plusEnhance your talentsProviding outstanding service and developing strong relationships with our independent agents are hallmarks of our company.
