HOW THE SR. DIRECTOR, AUTOMATION and CYBER ENGINEERING WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Lead the design and architecture of complex infrastructure automation and cybersecurity solutions, ensuring they align with client needs and industry best practices.
Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, security requirements, and risk management strategies.
Develop and implement comprehensive architectures and managed service offerings that address current and future threats, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Oversee the deployment and integration of AI, multi-cloud, and cybersecurity technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, firewalls, and cloud security solutions.
Provide strategic guidance on cybersecurity initiatives, including risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response planning.
Lead and mentor teams of infrastructure and cybersecurity architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Oversee technical staff and provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback for both performance and professional development.
Stay current with emerging industry trends, cybersecurity trends, technologies, and threat landscapes, and incorporate relevant advancements into the solution architecture.
Prepare and present detailed architectural plans, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and clients.
Ensure the continuous improvement of cybersecurity processes, tools, and methodologies.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery of cybersecurity solutions and managed services.
Liaise with GDIT's CTO teams to develop innovation strategies for our programs
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 7 years in a senior architecture or solution design role for a large program of greater than $50M or 50 FTEs
Direct experience with CISA and other federal agencies, preferably experience within Capacity Building or other directly related cybersecurity environments
Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience in designing and implementing complex security architectures and managed services in diverse environments.
Proficiency in advanced cybersecurity technologies and solutions (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, firewalls, cloud security).
Insight and detailed knowledge of current capabilities provided by multiple Artificial Intelligence and automation tools.
Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with clients and senior leadership.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, TOGAF, or similar are highly desirable.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

The likely salary range for this position is $212,500 - $287,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
