Equal Heart, located in Dallas, Texas, operates a multi-state AmeriCorps program that supports the work of 60 other non-profits that are expanding community impact. Equal Hearts' partnership focus is to deploy an AmeriCorps team that meets the organizational needs of our partners while staying compliant with all federal rules and regulations. Our two goals are to achieve community impact and create a rewarding service experience for AmeriCorps Members. Equal Heart is not a static organization, as we continually work to identify unmet community needs and how AmeriCorps members can help resolve those needs.We are looking for a Program Manager to help organize and monitor programs as our AmeriCorps operations expand. This position will be focused on programs operating in Texas and will report to the AmeriCorps Director. The Program Manager will focus on program and Member management, program development, and training. In addition, there will be occasional travel to conduct monitor reviews.Equal Heart has a nine-person AmeriCorps team; thus, each staff member takes on multiple roles. The ideal candidate will have numerous talents and a desire to occupy an all-encompassing role. The ability to create, analyze and communicate are essential attributes, as is the ability to have a mindset that provides you comfort with complex, intersectional systems. Prior AmeriCorps staff experience is desired, although the ability to work in a team environment and respect all team members is essential.The purpose of this role is to maximize member enrollment, retention and ensure grant compliance. Therefore, performance in this role is directly correlated to maximizing member retention and minimizing compliance risk. This is accomplished by, but not limited to, satisfactory completion of the duties below.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES75% Program ManagementWork with the AmeriCorps Director to ensure compliance of all partner locations.Oversee the recruitment plan for AmeriCorps members.Help implement the Performance and Evaluation plan and coordinate information gathering from partner locations.Conduct monitoring site visits for programmatic and fiscal compliance.Support partnerships between Equal Heart and partner organizations, balancing the needs of the partners and the development of the overall AmeriCorps program.25% Program Development and TrainingProvide federal rules/regulations, policies/procedures, and other technical assistance to AmeriCorps partner sites to ensure complianceOrganize, develop, and facilitate supervisor and member trainingCreate and support program innovations that improve quality and increase impactThe Ideal Manager Will HaveAt least three years of program and/or management experience;At least a bachelor's degree;Experience with AmeriCorps and/or the Corporation for National and Community Service a plus;Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain cooperative, professional, and productive work relationships with others.Thorough understanding of project/program monitoring techniques and methodsKnowledge of federal grant management and or compliance a plus.Outstanding organizational skills.A demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, tactically, and creatively in an organization that is constantly expanding;Ability and comfort with multiple long-term projects having different foci and deadlines;Ability to take complex information and break it down to more effectively communicate with sub-grantees;A drive to problem-solve;Excellent verbal and written communication skills;A collegial approach to work, flexibility, and a sense of humor.Salary is dependent on the qualities the applicant brings to the position.This is an in-person office with minimal opportunities to work remotely.
