DescriptionECBuild is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD. The Project Engineer will be responsible for submittal review, expediting, coordination, problem resolution (RFI's), document control and be the touchpoint between multiple parties including Subcontractors, Owners and other key members of the construction team.Job DutiesAssist in management of all features of the assigned project(s) from start through closeoutReinforce the management of the project requiring effective interaction and coordination with internal team members as well as external partiesEnsure scope is executed according to the contract and prevent unplanned/unbudgeted workAttend all project meetings as required by the Project ManagerMaintain and keep current all construction documents (Submittals, RFI's, change orders, drawings, specifications, etc.) and prepare as-built documentsAssist with Quality Control/Quality assurance effortsSupport the job cost management effortsPrepare and distribute meeting minutesManage RFI processManage Submittal processOrganize all material testing documentation and track all non-conformance issues to closurePerform other related duties as assigned, as required by Project ManagerRequirements
Minimum of 1-5 years' experience in the role of Assistant Project Engineer or Project Engineer.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field requiredInternships in the Construction IndustryWorking knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); subcontractor agreements, estimating, schedules and safety requiredExcellent communication and organizational skills essentialExcellent time management skills and a high attention to detailProficient with project management software - Procore, or similarProficient with Microsoft Office - Word, ExcelProficient with BluebeamFlexibility and willingness to travel and work at various locationsAbility to work well with diverse, multi-disciplined groupsPreferred Education and Experience:Project Types: Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Laboratory, MEP and Commercial Experience is a plusAdditional Eligibility/Qualifications:Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screeningAt this time, ECBuild is not accepting candidate submissions from recruiting agencies or search firms for this position.
