Job Purpose

Responsible for designing and facilitating training programs which are specific to the needs of the Operation's processes and systems (including the Service Center and other Operations-based departments). May conduct training need assessments, implements program evaluations, and instructional designs for instructor-led training, resource development and e-Learning programs. Analyzes training effectiveness and works directly with management to identify solutions for future training needs and adjustments to existing courses. Evaluates training needs and may develop e-Learning solutions through the application and utilization of various adult learning principles and e-Learning technology tools.

Essential Responsibilities

May conduct training needs assessments with trainers, end-users, and managers to identify training needs and appropriate objectives.

Identifies appropriate training objectives in congruence with business and learner needs.

Designs and facilitates training materials and lesson plans to achieve training objectives.

Coordinates all aspects of training design and delivery including material production, facilities, subject matter experts, and scheduling.

Monitors and reports on training effectiveness through trainee job performance and post-course delivery evaluations.

Actively maintains a working knowledge of Jackson’s systems and procedures applicable to the products, topics, processes and skills trained.

Performs a variety of complex tasks simultaneously.

Recommends, develops and implements training solutions utilizing a blended-approach of various methodologies; i.e., online learning, instructor-led, mentoring, etc.

Creates instructional design documents, e-Learning storyboards, lesson plans, and participant materials

Other Duties

Prepares and organizes training materials and reference library including electronic media

Maintains a system for updating training materials, monitoring training progress and documenting completed training

Builds and maintains training knowledge and skills

Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong communication and presentation skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Must have expertise in a variety of training concepts, practices, and procedures (or the ability to acquire this knowledge within 6 months of hire)

Ability to work with managers at various levels to recommend training solutions

Ability to reason and simplify complex processes

Strong knowledge of industry products and services

Ability to acquire strong knowledge of Jackson’s products and services within 6 months of hire

Strong knowledge of MS applications

Strong project management skills

Ability to travel between Jackson’s various locations/offices as required to support training needs

Ability to periodically work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and until 8:00 p.m. as business needs require

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Education or equivalentpreferred.

1+ years training experience or equivalent preferred.

E-Learning design and development experiencepreferred.

1+ years Financial Services or Insurance experience preferred.
