LHH is seeking a Director of Warehouse Operations for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a warehousing and distribution client who has multiple facilities across North America. In this newly created position, you will be responsible for overseeing a multi-site operation, standardizing processes, implementing best practices, and providing coaching and mentorship to the warehousing leadership team and hourly staff. We are seeking a strong leader who brings previous leadership experience managing multiple distribution centers, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a proven track record of success. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $135,000-150,000 per year plus bonus and includes affordable medical insurance options, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan.*NOTE REGARDING TRAVEL:
The majority of your time will be spent in Northern Indiana but this role does require travel to the various sites as needed. The first year's estimated travel will likely be around 40% and it will decrease in year two after you've visited all of the sites.***Company will not sponsor applicants for Work Visas***JOB RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all warehousing and distribution operations across the multi-site organization which includes sites across North America.Direct all business operations, review/revise standard operation procedures, prepare and maintain operations budget, and lead strategic planning meetings to ensure the achievement of company KPIs.Ensure all departments are operating effectively, encouraging collaboration, and adhering to business quality standards.Oversee and enhance SOPs for shipping, receiving, warehousing, and distribution practices.Create KPIs, set productivity benchmarks, and hold the team accountable to ensure that goals are being met and/or surpassed in each work area.Lead continuous improvement initiatives, manage budgets, and enhance warehouse productivity and efficiency.Collaborate with business partners at each location and manage the company's supply chain activities including logistics, distribution, and customer relations.Focus on cost-effective initiatives to increase company profitability while maintaining high levels of customer service.Foster a collaborative work culture through open communication, high visibility and strong leadership.Lead by example and provide hands-on training and development to the management staff and hourly workers.Serve as a Safety Champion and uphold warehouses safety standards, OSHA regulations, etc.Be a proactive leader, self-motivated and able to analyze, react and develop a plan of action and see it through to completion.Manage budgets, income statements, and profitability of each location on a monthly and annual basis.Frequent travel to headquarters and distribution centers.NON-NEGOTIABLE QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of 10+ years of operational leadership experience within a warehousing and/or distribution environment is requiredMust have 10+ years of experience at the GM-level or aboveMust have 5+ years of experience leading a multi-site operationStrong business acumen and experience with strategic planning, budgeting, improving EBITDA, resource allocation, gross margin improvement, human resources, customer service, and leadership of direct reportsProven track record of implementing initiatives resulting in increased organizational efficiencies and profitable outcomesAbility to maintain positive relationships with customers, employees and fellow leadership, exemplifying professionalism and driving a culture of positivity and excellencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management and/or Engineering is highly preferredPreference toward candidates with experience working with and/or distributing industrial productsPreference toward candidates with experience leadings teams in both the US and Canada/ MexicoIdeal candidates will have experience with Lean Six Sigma/5S strategies and know how to effectively apply them
