$59.83 - $74.27 Hourly

We have an opening for a

Craft Supervisor

(Deployed Team Responsible Individual), assigned to the Alarms Group within the Infrastructure Maintenance and Utilities Department (IMUD) in the Infrastructure & Operations Directorate (I&O). You will provide significant technical and administrative guidance and be responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day activities of skilled trades including establishing priorities, setting up schedules and coordinating work. This position may require working at Site 300 located in Tracy, California.This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.You willSupervise and coordinate the work of the various skilled trades engaged in the installation, repair, alternation, operation and maintenance of plant facilities, utilities, and infrastructure.Coordinate work with planners, schedulers, other shops, building and programmatic personnel; define scope of work, efforts required, and materials needed for work requests, schedule work assignments, solve problems and make decisions all while ensuring work is carried out safely and effectively as scheduled and in high quality in compliance with Federal, State, and LLNL Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) requirements and policies.Serve as a point of contact between the management team, facilities, and team/shop workers, and participate fully in management team decision-making and goal setting.Establish and monitor goals and measurements for productivity in craft work processes and make appropriate adjustments. Analyze data and prepare and present standard and supervisory reports.Serve as a Responsible Individual, RI, responsible for day-to-day work activities of assigned crafts ensuring that the work is performed in accordance with the Work Planning and Control policy.Interact with personnel of all levels including, but not limited to, building coordinators, supervisors, administrative, and craft personnel.Provide input in the investigation and completion of documents related to accidents/incidents, and performance management. Solicit technical advice from subject matter experts as necessary.Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.Extensive journey-level knowledge, abilities, and work experience in a relevant skilled trade or equivalent experience in maintenance and/or construction.Technical, administrative, and supervisory skills and experience including independent decision making, problem solving, workload scheduling, and workforce utilization.Ability to interpret and implement personnel policies and procedures, disciplinary actions, and complete performance appraisals.Ability to provide effective direction and flexibility to adjust work activities to meet changing requirements as well as motivate, train, develop, and provide guidance with an emphasis on teamwork.Extensive knowledge of and experience in the application of safety policies and procedures, including Work Control and evaluating work hazards and establishing safety standards to assure the public, worker, and environment are protected from adverse consequences.Effective written and verbal communication skills necessary to interact with all levels of technical and administrative personnel.Proficiency in using personal computers and related software programs and applications.Ability to obtain and maintain a valid California Driver's License.Qualifications We DesireKnowledge of the function and operation of typical security policies and procedures for nuclear, sensitive, or limited-access facilities.Proven success in driving a workplace enhancement initiative such as: equipment modernization, operational excellence, worker engagement, preventive maintenance management system rollout, safety culture improvement, or similar program.
