System Engineer

VMG Health is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be a consummate utility player, able to dive deep into DNS configuration settings one minute and respond to a security breach the next.
This role requires expertise in Cisco Meraki hardware, wireless access points, DNS, Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and SharePoint.
The Systems Engineer will ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
Network Management:
- Maintain network infrastructure using Cisco Meraki hardware.
- Configure and program network switches.
- Configure and manage wireless access points to ensure seamless connectivity.
- Oversee DNS configuration and management.
- Ensure the availability and performance of network services, including virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and application virtualization.
Cloud and Microsoft Services:
- Manage and support Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and SharePoint environments.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud services and applications.
Security and Compliance:
- Respond to and mitigate security breaches and incidents.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols and policies.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Operational Support:
- Provide operational support for Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Install software and hardware on networking equipment and microcomputers.
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on servers, computers, and peripheral equipment.
- Configure and maintain system alerting and monitoring
Collaboration and Communication:
- Communicate technical information to colleagues, executives and business counterparts in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic IT planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge & Skills:
- Operational knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and application virtualization.
- Advanced knowledge of network and routing protocols.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud-based applications and environments; specifically Azure
- Operational knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Operational knowledge of switch configuration and programming.
- Operational knowledge of InfoSec concepts and software.
- Familiarity with a variety of networking and personal computer software.
- Ability to install software and hardware on networking equipment and microcomputers.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on servers, computers, network and peripheral equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and desire to work as a member of a team.
Required Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a related discipline
Experience:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience
License/Certifications:
- Relevant certifications preferred; ITIL, Azure, M365, CISSP, CCNP etc.
