- The person will be assigned to a territory to oversee specific communities or Build ON your Lot projects.
- This position is responsible for the project management of 50-80 concurrent electrical installation projects for homes including phases that begin before the foundation, include electrical wiring, underground electrical install, and finish after all the lights and fixtures are installed.
- The candidate MUST have electrical Residential Wireman or Journeyman certification in the state of Texas.
- have worked in new home construction for a minimum of 4 years.
Electrical Superintendent Role and Responsibility
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Residential Wireman or Journeyman License (5+ yrs. of experience)
Able to install electrical in a one to three story single-family dwelling
Able to Pre-plan and manage schedules
Be able to interpret electrical codes and specifications
Able to review and interpret construction blueprints
- BUILDER RELATIONSHIPPrimary contact with Builder, typically overseeing 80-100 projects at a time
- Manage Builder expectations via initiative-taking, accurate, and timely communications
- Understand project expectations, scope, inclusions, and exclusions
- Proactively request POs for out-of-scope work, ensure out of scope work is builder approved before scheduling
- QUALITY AND COST CONTROLWalk one to three story homes on a daily basis to determine readiness for schedule
- Quality check homes by physically walking homes to evaluate electrical installation code requirement were met after each Ground, Rough and Trim phase of construction
- Quality control - walk homes, make punch lists at key points in the construction process
- Define work expectations for hourly/sub crews and ensure that team understands task assignments and material requirements before sending to Jobsite
- Review work orders, add detailed notes before assigning crews
- Turn in material requests to the warehouse by 2 pm the prior day
- Approve all overtime assigned to the team
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and operation
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSSuperintendents often need to move around the construction site frequently to inspect progress, address issues, and coordinate with various teams. This may involve walking, climbing stairs, accessing confined spaces such as under sinks and in attics, and navigating uneven terrain. Stamina is essential as the job may require long hours and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- While superintendents typically delegate manual tasks to technicians, there may be instances where they need to perform physical tasks themselves, such as lifting or moving lightweight objects, using hand tools, or assisting in small-scale construction activities.
