Foundry Operations Manager

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct foundry operations and a leadership team including Foundry Engineering, Production, Quality, EHS and Maintenance.
  • Ensure sound, lean manufacturing practices are followed to support the goals of the organization
  • Ensure maximization of throughput of good product through the plant
  • Support EHS policies and procedures, which includes applicable regulatory requirements and on the job safety
  • Manage and oversee the facility inside and out
  • Participate in the quality improvement process
  • Ensure that monthly shipments are met in accordance with manufacturing plan
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review plant performance and goal setting
  • Provide instruction and counseling as necessary
  • Develop employee work skills to improve department throughput and reduce scrap/rework
  • Control manpower and materials needed to complete jobs accurately and on time
  • Provide input on determining operating budget
  • Keep operating costs at a level equal to or lower than budgeted for the volume of work being produced
  • Research new processes and equipment that may improve throughput and profitability
  • Provide visual communication of goals to current performance
  • Provide first-hand knowledge of environmental aspects of their operation
  • Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or the equivalent combination work experience and skill development; supervisory training preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience working in foundry environment in a lead position.
  • Previous budget/financial experience
