Position Overview:
The Production Director is responsible for the overall strategic direction and leadership of the production operations. This role involves making high-level decisions, setting long-term goals, and ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives. The Production Director oversees resource allocation, performance monitoring, and the implementation of production policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Oversight:
- Develop and implement the overall strategy for the production operations, aligning with the company’s long-term objectives.
- Set and monitor long-term goals and ensure they are achieved within the stipulated timelines.
- Policy and Decision Making:
- Establish and enforce production policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Make high-level decisions regarding production processes, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.
- Resource Allocation:
- Oversee the allocation of resources, including budgets, equipment, and human resources, to ensure optimal production efficiency.
- Coordinate with other departments to align production needs with company resources.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the overall performance of the production department.
- Analyze production data and implement necessary adjustments to achieve operational excellence.
- Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead and mentor the production management team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Develop and implement training and development programs for production staff.
- Quality and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all production activities comply with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement across the production department.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate production goals, strategies, and performance to senior executives and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments, including sales, procurement, logistics, and engineering, to ensure smooth operations.
- Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Monitor and control production costs to meet financial targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in a senior production management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong strategic planning and decision-making abilities.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in production management software and Google Suite.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
