Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep experience in security engineering and operations, particularly with hands-on operational duties. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively in a hybrid setting, with no exceptions to the onsite requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Operations: Manage and monitor security technologies, ensuring the protection and integrity of the organization's information assets.
- Incident Response: Respond swiftly to security incidents, utilizing strong problem-solving skills to mitigate threats effectively.
- Technology Expertise: Operate and maintain security technologies, including firewalls, SIEM solutions, Endpoint Protection, and Vulnerability Management Tools. Familiarity with Palo Alto Network firewall, Cortex XDR, Splunk, Aruba Clearpass, and Netscaler is highly desirable.
- Automation and Customization: Leverage scripting and programming skills (Python, PowerShell) to automate and customize security tools, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear communication and guidance on security-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-10 years in security engineering or operations roles, with a strong focus on operational responsibilities.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in security technologies, with a bonus for experience in scripting/programming for automation purposes.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
Work Environment: This role requires a hybrid work schedule, with three days per week onsite at our Boston office. Remote work is available for the remaining days.
