Buyer job Description
- The Buyer will support other team members and be a team player.
- Employee will adhere to EnerMech’s processes and procedures.
- Ensure business ethics are maintained, with buyer complying with company principles.
- Build trusting relationships with suppliers to ensure effective purchasing.
- Buyer will maintain accurate records of purchased items, costs, and deliveries.
- Ensure buyer selects items of good quality that meet all specifications.
- Buyer will purchase items for projects, stock, or approved CAPEX.
- Travel to various EnerMech locations as needed to maintain communication across teams.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager or Operations Manager.
- Buyer will expertly use enterprise resource planning software (NAVISION or similar) to manage purchase orders and fixed assets.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, General Manager, and Project Managers to review and approve invoices.
- Buyer will evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Interview vendors and visit facilities to assess their products, services, and pricing.
- Buyer will meet with staff and vendors to resolve any issues with defective goods or services.
- Evaluate and monitor contracts to ensure suppliers comply and suggest changes when necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or Degree.
- 3-5 years in a similar role.
- Understanding of the oil and gas market and supply chain fluctuations.
- Financially astute with ERP system knowledge.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written)
- Flexible with work hours and comfortable in a field environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong reporting and teamwork skills.
- Expert in ERP software and supply chain negotiation.
- Strong supplier network and field experience.
- Competence in risk assessment, problem-solving, and people management.
