Engineering Manager (Plastic Injection Molding)

Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the entire facility. This is a leadership role and will oversee all production employees. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, directing manufacturing operations and people, production schedules, delivery schedules, maintenance of equipment, and maintaining safety protocol. This position is responsible for reaching the production goals of company.

Qualifications

Plastic injection molding experience is required (5+ years)

Bachelors Degree is recommended but not required.

Lean Six Sigma Belt is beneficial.

Responsibilities

· Direct daily activities of production supervisors, schedulers, and machine operators

· Oversee daily operations of the production process from scheduling to shipping

· Maintain 5 S standards

· Increase production output, efficiency and flexibility while improving quality.

· Monitor and direct modifications to the production schedule

· Optimize inventory levels without compromising on-time deliveries.

· Work directly with purchasing to assure partnerships are established with key suppliers, guaranteeing availability and good quality of raw material and purchased components.

· Define plant strategy in alignment with corporate strategy to provide a clear sense of direction and focus.

· Monitor manufacturing operations and trigger corrective actions.

· Manage production employee performance and partner with HR to assist with employee issues

· Assure that building and routine maintenance of production equipment is current and performed in a timely manner.

· Effectively communicates with the team on all production, safely or maintenance issues.

· Recognize, create and schedule relevant training sessions as necessary
