Position Summary:

The Tree Care Worker role at Caldwell Tree Care includes both Climber and Groundsperson positions, each with specific responsibilities that support the overall health and safety of trees. Climbers focus on tasks performed at height, while Groundsperson provide essential support on the ground, working closely with Arborists, Climbers, and Crew Leads to ensure the success of each project.

Key Responsibilities:

Climber:

  • Perform tree pruning, thinning, and removal tasks at heights using climbing techniques, harnesses, and ropes.
  • Safely rig and lower limbs, branches, and tree sections during pruning and removal operations.
  • Conduct tree risk assessments before beginning work on any tree.
  • Assist with ground-level operations, including equipment setup, material handling, and site cleanup.
  • Operate chippers and other machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Properly use and maintain chainsaws and other arboricultural tools.
  • Follow all ANSI and company protocols concerning safety, work procedures, and core values.
  • Participate in all job site safety briefings and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Implement work zone safety procedures, including the placement of cones and signs and providing flagging services.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical tasks.
  • Comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Exposure to loud equipment, dust, and debris.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
