Full-Time Direct Hire W2

Salary: $190K-$220K Base + 20% Bonus

Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Platform Engineer to join their growing team. This role will focus on architecting scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions while playing a key part in building and maintaining a federated architecture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS cloud platforms and DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and Implement Cloud Solutions: Design and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based infrastructure solutions using AWS.
  • Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and Portal Development: Lead efforts in building and maintaining an IDP that enhances developer productivity, ensuring self-service access to development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure.
  • DevOps Practices: Define and implement best practices for CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure automation using tools like Pulumi, Ansible, or others.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Implement systems for monitoring, logging, and incident response to ensure high availability and performance of the infrastructure.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure all cloud infrastructure and DevOps processes adhere to industry-standard security and compliance regulations.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to align architecture and operational efficiency with business goals.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Experience: DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure management.
  • AWS Expertise: Expertise in architecting and managing AWS solutions with deep knowledge of cloud-native services and infrastructure.
  • Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and Portal: Experience designing, building, or maintaining IDPs for development teams, enabling self-service environments and CI/CD capabilities.
  • Observability: Establish robust observability frameworks, including monitoring, logging, and tracing, to ensure the health and performance of all systems.
  • Networking: Design and manage secure and optimized networking solutions within AWS, including VPCs, subnets, and network security.
  • DevOps Tools and Automation: Extensive hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Argo, Github Actions), infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi), and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, Go) to automate operational tasks.
  • Security and Compliance: Familiarity with cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection in the cloud.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile and DevOps-focused organizations.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience in leading cross-functional teams or mentoring junior engineers in cloud and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • On-Prem to Cloud Migration: Prior experience in migrating large-scale infrastructure or applications from on-premise to the cloud is highly desirable.
