Vaco is actively seeking an Azure Security Engineer for a direct-hire position with our client in Memphis.

This is a hybrid opportunity to join a nationally respected organization that is a leader in their field.

Summary
The Cloud Security Engineer will utilize Azure to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures within our cloud computing environments. This role is crucial for safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our cloud-based systems and data.

This role will conduct risk assessments, develop security policies, implement controls, monitor incidents, and respond to security breaches. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key as you identify vulnerabilities and enhance the security posture of our Azure infrastructure and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and resolve security vulnerabilities across Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Build, deploy, and manage security tools and services within the Azure ecosystem.
  • Design and implement scalable processes for provisioning cloud access on Azure.
  • Ensure a reliable and user-friendly Azure cloud infrastructure with minimal intervention.
  • Evaluate and respond to alerts and incidents from Azure security tools.
  • Fine-tune Azure security configurations to reduce false positives.
  • Develop documentation and processes for incident response, including visual diagrams for Azure environments and security tools.
  • Collaborate with security leadership, engineering, and compliance teams to execute tailored security strategies for Azure.
  • Support other teams in addressing security challenges in alignment with business requirements and best practices.
  • Assess current Azure cloud security and recommend improvements or solutions.
  • Review Azure architecture through a security lens, providing actionable recommendations and requirements.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Azure security tools, applications, and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with deploying and customizing security tools such as vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for change management and automated security testing.
  • Proficiency in Azure, with a working knowledge of AWS preferred.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager.
  • Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Container Instances.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to write SQL queries and create dashboards and reports.
  • Knowledge of networking and web protocols.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud technology components and deployment patterns.

  • Total Compensation: $120k - $150k (Commensurate with skills and experience)
