Position: Medical Simulation Technician – Jacksonville, NC
Are you passionate about hands-on technology in medical simulation? Engenium is seeking a Simulation Technician to support medical training for the U.S. Navy. This role is critical in ensuring simulation equipment functions seamlessly to create realistic training environments. Key Responsibilities
- Simulation Operations & Maintenance
- Operate and maintain advanced medical simulators, including mannequin-based, surgical, and virtual reality trainers, to support realistic training sessions.
- Scenario Facilitation
- Manage simulation sessions by adapting to participant actions and following medical aspects of training scenarios, ensuring high-quality, responsive training.
- Audio-Video Support
- Operate audio-video recording systems for simulations, capturing important data for analysis and after-action reporting (AAR).
- Equipment Setup & Oversight
- Prepare simulation supplies and equipment based on training objectives, oversee simulation encounters, and provide valuable feedback to Course Directors and Medical Facility staff.
- Curriculum Development Collaboration
- Work with diverse stakeholders to assist in developing effective and realistic simulation scenarios that enhance the training curriculum.
Basic Qualifications
- Education
- Associate's degree or technical certification in a computer technology field (e.g., hardware, networking) or 5+ years of clinical experience.
- Experience
- 3+ years in the medical or military medical field and 2+ years with simulation equipment, specifically Gaumard and KGS products.
- Independent Worker
- Ability to manage tasks and solve problems independently.
Preferred Skills
- Medical Knowledge
- Paramedic-level knowledge to manipulate physiologic data and interpret participant responses during scenarios.
- Military Insight
- Military medical experience is a strong advantage.
- Training Facility Familiarity
- Knowledge of Air Force Medical Treatment Facilities' functions and training requirements.
Professional Skills
- Communication & Organization
- Strong written and oral skills, high attention to detail, and excellent organizational capabilities.
- Analytical Skills
- Ability to make quick decisions and problem-solve in high-stakes training environments.
- Computer Proficiency
- Skilled in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
