Job Description:
Client, a leading aerospace engineering company, is seeking a Senior Data Links/Networking Engineer to provide critical engineering and technical support for air-to-air and air-to-ground communications systems. In this role, you will work on designing, developing, integrating, testing, and deploying subsystems that support military communication standards. You will also contribute to the development and sustainment of network architectures.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide engineering consultation and support for data links and networking interoperability.
- Design, develop, integrate, and test data link messaging (J-Series, K-Series, VMF) in accordance with MIL-STDs -6016 and -6017.
- Support network architecture development and assist in obtaining Air Force Systems Interoperability Testing (AFSIT) and Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certifications.
- Draft documentation and support performance requirement reviews and system-level modifications.
- Ensure systems integration, airworthiness certification (per MIL-HDBK-516), and compliance with MIL-STD-882 safety standards and AFI 63-1201 Life Cycle Systems Engineering.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- A minimum of 12 years of engineering experience in relevant functional areas, with at least 6 years of experience in systems, flight systems, avionics, software, or test for the Department of Defense (DoD).
- OR a Master’s Degree in engineering (EE preferred) with 12+ years of experience and 6+ years in DoD specialty areas.
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Other ABET-accredited professional engineering degrees are acceptable with at least 8 years of the 12-year minimum requirement in avionics, software, or test for DoD.
