Generation W has developed and executes several programs, Generation W, Generation WOW, Generation WORKS, and WOWsdom!

POSITION SUMMARY

With an ultimate goal of increasing giving at all levels, the Director of Development and Engagement we are seeking will be responsible for planning and implementing the short and long-term development strategy.

The successful candidate will serve as a visible, passionate spokesperson for Generation W’s programs while cultivating relationships in the community at large.

Our Director of Development and Engagement will lead the effort to ensure Generation W maintains and grows diverse funding streams to accomplish its mission. They will be responsible for all of our fundraising efforts by managing

? Individual gifts,

? Special events,

? Grants,

? Planned giving,

? Corporate giving, and

? Foundation support

Our Director of Development and Engagement will be tasked with providing strategic leadership to diversify, strengthen and grow Generation W’s base of support while also developing key external alliances (to encourage individual and philanthropic support).

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES

Listed below are the major duties and responsibilities of this position:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive, diversified, and sustainable business plan for development activities with short- and long-term goals and strategies.

• Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals, foundations, and corporations, with a long-term relationship-management approach, to meet fundraising goals and improve engagement.

• Build long-term relationships with new and existing partners.

• Become an expert representative on Generation W’s various programs, partnerships, events, and impact with the ability to tailor communications with potential partners according to their interests and connection to the organization.

• Grow the individual giving program by cultivating existing donors and identifying prospective new donors.

• Research, write, and coordinate the grant application process; manage the proposals and maintain a donor database.

• Track and submit required Grant reporting data.

• Ensure that all partnership records are up to date.

• Provide required information to have invoices generated and submitted to funders according to the established timelines.

• Develop materials used for partnerships, grants and sales meetings.

• Partner with the communications team to develop, plan and execute event communications/invitations and donor appeals, including the year-end annual appeal, and ensure accurate and timely public recognition of supporters.

• Build engagement and scale around the Generation W communities.

• Explore and develop partnership opportunities that provide value to sponsors and the growth of the members of the Generation W community.

• Create and develop communications plans utilizing social media, the W website, and newsletters to increase awareness and engagement.

• Recommend and execute indicated research to help support the programs.

• Be a contributing member to the creative development and execution of Generation W, WOW, WORKS, and WOWsdom!

• Contribute to whatever tasks require support and execution in the flow of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Highly motivated and self-driven individual. Passionate and creative professional with the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.

• Leads with the mission in mind and the values of Generation W.

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, highly effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner.

• Detail-oriented, with strong proofreading skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and ensure that deadlines are met.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to monitor, compile, and analyze data to guide decision-making and capitalize on opportunities.

• Able to quickly establish a rapport with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to remain flexible and work within a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of CRM Systems, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Travel as needed.

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in non-profit fundraising and/or sales
