Clarity Partners is seeking an AWS Engineer local to Chicago, IL. This position will support system engineering tasks, schedule and perform hardware/software installations, patches and upgrades, and maintain all tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in defining, provisioning and managing Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments.
- Reply to customer tickets within 20-35 minutes based on SLA.
- Resolve high-priority alerts within 45 minutes, collaborating with the team as needed.
- Installs, configures, maintains, and monitors operating systems and infrastructure services.
- Provides design and implementation expertise for software and application migrations into cloud environments.
- Responsible for developing and deploying AWS Lambda using Python and other programming languages.
- Strong understanding of whole solution architecture concepts and effectively communicates designs with customer architects.
- Responsible for the end-to-end architecture of a Delivery, including its assembly and integration into the IT architecture principles defined with the client.
- Responsible for the management and mitigation of technical risks. Ensure the delivery of underlying technology components.
- Proactively maintains and develops all AWS infrastructure technology to support a 24x7x365 uptime service.
- Performs delivery support functions utilizing AWS cloud-native tools.
- Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hotfixes on EC2 instances.
- Approve vendor-level escalations and assist the client with incident resolutions and closure.
- Develop and implement solutions to automate manual tasks, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing the risk of errors across various workflows.
Requirements:
- 3+ years hands on Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience highly preferred; including software installation, configuration, patching, and proficient documentation skills.
- Experience managing full application stacks from OS up through custom applications.
- General networking knowledge, VLANs, routing, and firewall concepts.
- Knowledge of Languages & Scripting frameworks leveraged for Cloud automation & integration.
- Ability to define processes, SOPs, and identifies effectiveness and efficiency improvements.
- Knowledge of system monitoring in a cloud environment including cloud specific products and tools.
- Strong understanding & delivery experience of AWS cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with data center concepts and best practices, high - availability systems, capacity planning, system performance evaluation, and diagnostic techniques and methodologies.
- Familiarity with automation scripts (Shell / Bash / Python / PowerShell) and batch files to automate system and application administration on the Cloud.
- Experience with on-premise to cloud migrations or IT transformations and working with Containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
- Strong understanding of cloud security requirements, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with Windows Server Administration, Windows Group Policy Editor Experience, MS365 Administrations, MS365 SharePoint Administration, Azure, or Entra ID would be a plus.
