SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER

Cresline Plastic Pipe Co., Inc., a leading manufacturer of plastic piping systems, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our team at our Henderson, KY location. The Senior Process Engineer will take a lead role in designing, implementing, and optimizing extrusion processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. This position works closely with production, maintenance, and quality control to ensure smooth operations and drive continuous process improvements. While primarily focused on support and optimization, the position will require hands-on operations for troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Essential Functions

  • Design and Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes, troubleshoot issues that arise and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead Process Improvement Projects: Coordinate with various departments to identify opportunities for process enhancement and manage projects to achieve targeted results.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and production personnel to ensure effective process integration and alignment with overall business goals.
  • Provide Technical Support: Offer expertise and guidance on process-related matters, assist in the resolution of technical challenges and drive innovation. 

Knowledge and Skills

 · Strong understanding of the plastics extrusion manufacturing process

· Strong understanding of PVC materials, including formulations, material properties, and processing behavior

· Ability to optimize extrusion processes to improve product quality, increase efficiency, and reduce scrap rates

· Requires critical thinking and problem solving as well as ability to troubleshoot independently

· A strong understanding of product specifications and document work procedures to establish appropriate tooling, extruder settings and equipment setup

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Technology Skills

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

· Knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD design - AutoCAD, Inventor, Plant 3D

· SAP Materials Management (MM) and Production Planning (PP)

· Familiarity with tooling and die design

· Knowledge of programming and control systems

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, plastics related field, or relevant work experience

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

· Extrusion Processing Management

· Ability to self-manage, organize and prioritize

· Experience with PVC and polyethylene extrusion processes
