Senior Backend Engineer

An innovative seed-stage startup is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build the future of data analysis software. As a well-funded company backed by top-tier investors, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineer to shape the architecture and development of our web platform.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to understand technical requirements and project timelines.
• Design, implement, and maintain features that enhance users’ ability to explore and analyze data.
• Monitor production environments to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and errors proactively.
• Develop and maintain integrations with third-party tools and applications.
• Integrate machine learning services into the platform via internal and third-party APIs.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience developing and maintaining production systems using Python.
• Proficiency with frameworks like Django, FastAPI, and/or Flask.
• Hands-on experience with web API technologies (REST, GraphQL, WebSocket).
• Experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Familiarity with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or DataBricks, and relational databases like Postgres or MySQL.
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
• Passion for building top-tier web platforms and services.
• Interest in the latest developments in Generative AI and NLP.

Work Arrangement

This role can be performed remotely within the U.S., but candidates should note that our headquarters is based in NYC. Remote work may be subject to New York State tax regulations.
