Optomi, in partnership with our premier client in the healthcare space, is seeking an experienced DevOps Manager to join their team for a full-time role in Dallas!

The DevOps Manager will oversee the daily management of build pipelines, deployment processes, observability practices, cloud engineering, and tools used by development teams such as GitLab and JIRA. This role involves leading a team responsible for maintaining highly secure and scalable systems, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, and ensuring overall support for application development. The DevOps Manager collaborates with senior leadership to document and implement best practices in system infrastructure and build tools that help teams develop and deploy software efficiently.

This manager will lead their team in the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) practices throughout the organization’s technology ecosystem. This includes application builds, deployments, cloud engineering, system administration, and infrastructure management. Additionally, they will ensure the team's effective handling of system monitoring, metrics reporting, and incident resolution. The DevOps Manager will be responsible for developing processes, driving initiatives, and leading technology investigations to further evolve the DevOps function, while promoting Agile methodologies and creating automation tools to enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead automation workflows that enable development teams to efficiently test and deploy code across the organization.
  • Build, configure, and maintain tools, systems, and frameworks that ensure optimal performance of software.
  • Design and implement real-time monitoring solutions for key systems.
  • Collaborate with the application development and operations teams to support technical operations.
  • Work alongside DevOps personnel to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Lead, mentor, and support DevOps team members in achieving their career goals and improving their skills.
  • Create and implement strategies for evolving DevOps practices with a focus on Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 7 years of IT experience, including 3+ years of hands-on development work, 1+ year of management experience, and 2+ years in DevOps.
  • Experience working in large, diverse enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and Configuration as Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
  • Familiarity with container technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Unix system administration, as well as Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), is preferred.
