Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Director of Information Technology (IT). This role will be pivotal in developing and executing IT strategy aligned with our mission in patient care. The Director of IT will oversee technology, maintenance, networking, security, and the overall stability of information systems 24/7. This position requires ongoing research of technology, security, and healthcare trends, along with the implementation of new technology, risk management strategies, and best practices to enhance efficiencies. A strong understanding of the technology needs and cybersecurity vulnerabilities faced by the organization is essential. This versatile position requires strong business acumen, personnel management, and project management skills, as well as close collaboration with Executive Management and healthcare facility partners, consultants, contractors, and vendors. The role will also serve as a strategic advisor to Executive Management on technology trends and opportunities.
General Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of information technology, including hardware and software applications.
- Manage a growing team of IT professionals and a responsive 24/7 Service Desk.
- Design, develop, and implement IT policies and procedures.
- Plan, manage, and implement Information Security (INFOSEC) policy, risk and information governance, vulnerability management, and routine assessments.
- Implement and oversee a structured Risk Management program.
- Maintain organizational effectiveness and efficiency by delivering strategic plans for implementing information technologies and business processes.
- Implement ongoing training for company users, including cybersecurity awareness training, and provide guidance on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the security and protection of all company data and electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Identify problematic areas within IT infrastructure and implement strategic solutions.
- Preserve digital and physical assets by implementing disaster recovery, file integrity, and backup procedures.
- Establish and sustain positive, collaborative relationships with staff and third parties (vendors, contractors, and consultants).
- Organize and lead regular meetings with staff and third parties; offer feedback based on business operations, processes, and risk.
- Deliver documentation and reports on implemented IT solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and technical developments.
- Oversee the annual IT budget and report to Executive Management.
- Adhere to HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
- Be available 24/7 for mission-critical or patient care emergencies.

Education, Experience, and Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information management, business, or a relevant field; Master’s Degree in healthcare, business, or a related field is preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including project and staff management.
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare information management.
- Experience in project management, risk management, regulatory compliance, software implementation, policy writing, and administration.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, and cloud-based applications.
