Market America, a Global Product Brokerage and Internet Marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced Lead UI/UX Designer for our Interactive Web - Mobile Team.
Position Summary
As Lead UI/UX Designer, you will provide best in class user experience to the market. Will lead critical and highly visible initiatives in building and scaling industry-leading digital applications and experiences for our customers. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, reliable, detailed, and driven to produce high quality work. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsible for setting and executing the strategy for site experience (user experience and interface design as well as the enterprise design system) for our online sites and mobile apps.
Work with a team of UX/UI professionals tasked with designing sales driving and engaging user centric website experiences that balance business and technology.
Plays a strategic role in developing the vision and delivering detailed designs along with stewarding the team's work through ideation, approval and final execution.
Stays current with leading digital experience trends across retail and brings a long term strategic vision for how we can align with existing and new experience best practices.
Fosters a strong problem-solving environment that drives new and unique user experiences.
Owns, evolves and drives the strategy for Enterprise Design Systems.
Ensures a consistent and best of breed digital experience for our customers as they journey across channels and touchpoints.
Partners closely with the Director of Interactive, Product Owners and IT, as well as Marketing and key stakeholders throughout the organization including Merchandising.
Conducts useability tests on our sites, apps and other channels as requested.
Establishes a strong point of view on and stays current on evolving digital user experience standards across retail and other verticals.
Prioritize and drives various work streams and holds the team and external partners accountable for delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner closely with team leads and internal stakeholders to create empathetic, simple, and human-centric design solutions that define our product experience.
- Work collaboratively with other designers on the team to create conceptual wireframes, prototypes, and final designs for consumer-facing websites and mobile apps considering user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Own product features through launch, ensuring we're shipping meaningful and quality experience
- Help to develop, use, and maintain a design system that delivers a consistent and on-brand experience throughout all our digital experiences, both website and mobile apps.
- Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas to push the user experience of our product
- Give and solicit feedback from other designers, product management, and engineering during weekly reviews and standups
- Participate in design workshops to explore innovative solutions for problems and opportunities identified through research and data.
Skills
- 5-7 years of experience in agency or product related environments designing consumer facing digital experiences
- 2+ years of experience leading and developing others, preferably a team
- Expertise building successful and engaging applications, experience building consumer facing applications
- Experience designing mobile-first and responsive web pages
- Ability to rapidly generate and produce multiple concepts and solutions
- Experience with both qualitative and quantitative testing
- Proficiency with design and prototyping software such as Adobe, Sketch, Figma and Invision
- Knowledge of UX best practices and trends
- Strong understanding of information hierarchy and typography
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of how data and qualitative research inform product and design decisions
