Systems Modeling & Simulation engineer
Minuteman Group LLC, Lexington, KY, United States
Job Title: System Modeling Simulation and Analysis Engineer
Location: Lexington, MA (Onsite)
Job Type: W2 Contract (long term)
Background/Need:
Our Client works to defend and protect our warfighters, naval fleet, and surface-based assets by developing advanced sensors, electronic warfare systems, and battle management technologies to counter evolving threats. Of particular interest to the group is the development of: software-reconfigurable electronic warfare systems and prototypes, advanced signal processing algorithms for signal exploitation, resource coordination techniques for enhanced battle management, and artificial intelligence to enable the development of next-generation countermeasures, sensors, and enhanced human-machine teaming for fleet defense. Major activities within the group include concept development, systems analysis and architectures, algorithms design and development, hardware prototype system design and development, and experimental field testing and data analysis.
The group is seeking a Systems Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Engineer to assist in developing our existing codebases for physics and electronic warfare modeling. These Matlab codebases allow for modeling of sensors, weapons, and electronic warfare capabilities. The engineer will work with the team to understand the features that need to be added to the existing models and the analysis goals. The engineer would leverage their engineering/physics technical background to understand how to model the desired features and capabilities and implement them efficiently in the existing codebase. In addition, the engineer would be expected to further improve the quality of the existing codebase in accordance with software engineering best practices, and effectively perform analysis runs using the codebase.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Independently adding features and capabilities to the existing Matlab codebase, including the technical background to accurately model basic physics phenomenology in terms of RF propagation, electronic warfare, missile flyouts, sensors etc.
- erforming quality control on new features and the existing code base to include adding unit tests, and other capabilities to ensure that the results are accurate and that new features are interacting appropriately with the rest of the codebase.
- Working with the team to understand what new features are required in the codebase to support analysis
- In consultation with the team, taking responsibility for overall software architecture and quality control of the codebase, including how new features should best be added.
- Performing modeling runs needed for analysis and building tools that allow for efficient batch runs and analysis of results.
Must Have:
- Data Analysis Tool Development using MATLAB.
- Modeling & Simulation.
- Software Development.
- Matlab Programming.
- Software Architecture.
Nice to Have:
- Active and Passing RF Sensing; Threat Modeling; Platform Dynamics.
- Modeling Sensing Technologies (radar and optical sensors).
- RF Signals (Antennas, EM Propagation and Modeling, Down-Conversion Receivers).
- Classified Software Development.
- Aircraft, Missile, Satellite Systems.
- Air Surveillance Systems (e.g. radars).
- Command and Control (C2) Systems.
Education & Experience: Bachelor's plus 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Work Authorization: US Citizenship with Active Secret Clearance is required due to the nature of the work.
