LinkedIn Marketing Solutions (LMS) is the largest and fastest growing scaled B2B Advertising Platform in the world. The LMS engineering team is responsible for building and scaling the technology stack that powers our advertising business including advertiser experiences, ad serving platform and ad products.The Advertiser Experience org within LMS is the face of LinkedIn to advertisers. Through our suite of first party products, Campaign Manager and Business Manager, and API products, we enable enterprises, small businesses, partners and agencies to run successful advertising campaigns and grow their business. We are looking to hire a Principal Staff Software Engineer to partner with the Director of Engineering on scaling our infrastructure and re-imagining the workflows for our advertisers through AI. The role requires customer empathy, thought leadership, technical vision and the ability to inspire a team of engineers in solving challenging problems.
Responsibilities
You will build and ship software, drive architectural decisions and implementation across LMS teams. You will actively improve the level of craftsmanship at LinkedIn by developing best practices and defining best strategies.You will lead cross team/cross-functional discussions and drive alignment on product/technology strategy.You will define the bar for quality and efficiency of software systems while balancing business impact, operational impact and cost benefits of design and architectural choices.You will act as one of the primary domain experts to influence technology choices.You will lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation.
Basic Qualifications
BA/BS Degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience8+ years of programming experience in Java, C++, C# or similar programming languages8+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems, applications or similar experience
Preferred Qualifications
MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline.12+ years of relevant work experience.Experience with strategic planning, executing on a long term roadmap, team development and scaling processes to support business growth.Experience designing and building infrastructure and backend services at internet scale.Experience building and shipping high quality work while achieving high reliability.Experience utilizing data and analysis in articulating technical problems and in arriving at recommendations and solutions.Experience leading high-impact cross-org initiativesExperience in working with AI in consumer facing products

The pay range for this role is $195,000 to $320,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
