Our client is a start-up medical device company in Minnesota who is focused on developing and commercializing neuromodulation technology platforms to treat patients suffering from unmet needs. Our client is expecting growth in the next 1-2 years and needs to bring on a Principal Test Engineer to help with defining, specifying, validating, and deploying test fixtures and software for test systems which test electrical medical devices.
This is a 4–6-month assignment with strong potential for extension. Candidates must be onsite in the greater Minneapolis area 2-3 days/week minimum.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, validate, and implement test fixtures and software for electrical medical devices.
- Collaborate with design team and contract manufacturer to understand product requirements, development schedules, budgets, and limitations.
- Create test specifications and procedures to guarantee product quality and reliability.
- Establish testing systems along with necessary ongoing calibration and maintenance to ensure sustained success.
- Document test plans, procedures, specifications, and results clearly and concisely.
- Provide technical support and training to team members as required.
Technical Requirements:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.
- 8+ years of test engineering experience in the medical device industry, especially in specifying and defining test fixtures
- Experience programming with C# and Python
- Thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles and testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in automating manufacturing calibrations and test fixtures.
- Proficient with testing equipment and tools (i.e. oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.)
- Proven experience with automated testing systems and software
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and communication with cross-functional teams.
