We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Plant Quality Team. The Plant Quality Engineer will provide statistical information as well as accurate reporting to promote quality Improvement. For this position we are seeking an individual who is ready to troubleshoot quality issues and ensure the hands on aspect of quality control with a passion in quality assurance.
Job Scope:
Provide Quality Engineering support to all manufacturing processes, equipment, and products. Review current systems and standards by utilizing quality tools to assess and continuously improve processes. Respond to any quality concerns regarding the procedure and/or end product by employing problem solving techniques and root cause analyses. Interact with suppliers and customers at a technical level in order to have a clear understanding of the needs and concerns of both our company and those with whom we deal.
Job Functions:
- Responsible for ensuring customer requirements (internal & external) are met or exceeded in manufacturing environment
- Lead technical discussions with Internal Customers.
- Perform audits to insure adherence to company policies, procedures and customer requirements.
- Organize and present data to management for decision making including but not limited to creating reports via Microsoft Office
- Lead teams in structured problem solving efforts to improve product via internal manufacturing processes and or external material.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS Engineering and 1-3+ years' work experience in an engineering role or equivalent experience
- Ability to explain quality tools such as statistics, inspection methods, and GD&T
- Demonstrated ability to review and interpret GD&T standards
- Understand problem solving techniques such as 5Y, 8D, and root cause analysis
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to analyze Information, develop standards, manage processes, and promote process improvement
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred:
- 5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance capacity
- Basic Automotive and Mechanical knowledge
- Automatic Transmission Function Evaluation or Product Design/Manufacture experience.
- Experience in a Tier One automotive manufacturing facility
- Product Design experience (functional, and finished part)
