Project Engineer

Position Description:

We are seeking a professional with approximately 8+ years of experience and a range of knowledge and practice with remediation, environmental engineering design, construction and OM&M that can be integrated across our diverse portfolio of clients and projects. Preferred candidates will have experience working on complex remedial projects – from inception with proposal preparation to remedial evaluation, engineering design, management and execution of field work, reporting and client communications. Preferred candidates will perform well in a leading or supporting capacity with other professionals and possess the willingness and disposition to mentor engineering staff. The selected candidate will report to the principal engineering manager, and may be assigned junior or mid-level staff with time.

Preferred Experience and Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

1. Professional engineering (PE) license (VA, MD, DE, NJ and/or PA) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

1. Approximately 8+ years of related experience

1. Experience and knowledge of groundwater, soil, and soil vapor characterization and remedial techniques and technologies

1. Experience with managing/supporting large-scale and complex environmental sites involving hazardous and mixed wastes, free-phase product, etc.

1. Experience with cost estimating and bid preparation including technical proposal writing

1. Experience with implementing pilot tests, engineering principles of design, installation and construction

1. Experience with OM&M of remediation systems, treatment processes, and optimization

1. Experience with environmental compliance and/or permitting (NPDES, Air Quality, SPCC, E&S Controls)

1. Ability to support project teams with excellent internal as well as excellent external client and regulatory communication skills

1. Must be resourceful with excellent communication and writing skills and possess a high degree of initiative and time management skills

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Support project teams with complex remedial evaluation, engineering design, management and execution of field work, reporting, and client communications.

1. Lead and/or support client and bid proposal efforts as well as other life-cycle and order of magnitude costing efforts

1. Assist clients and project teams across various industries with environmental compliance and/or permitting (SPCC, NPDES, E&S Controls, and etc.)

1. Review plans, specifications, and technical reports prepared by junior level staff

1. Mentor and coach junior level staff on complex remediation activities

1. Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal engineering manager

1. Role may include Project Manager responsibilities depending on the candidate
