OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable workplace. This role involves operating, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on all building systems and equipment. Responsibilities also include moving and installing equipment and furniture, executing light carpentry tasks, and handling various related duties as needed. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to maintaining a high standard of facility management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs plant and/or office facilities maintenance duties such as fixing flooring, walls, ceiling, lights, doors, etc.
  • Performs routine repairs and maintenance of plant and/or office facilities and equipment by using hand or power tools as required.
  • Performs work in more than one of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical and HVAC, sheet metal fabrication, and welding, for the construction, repair, and/or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures. (Senior Level)
  • Hang signage and/or fixtures in the office or manufacturing space.
  • Maintain mechanical and electrical areas in an organized and clean manner, including support in exterior facilities clean up.
  • Works with outside contractors on facilities and equipment repairs.
  • Where and when applicable, remove snow from entrances and docking areas by using appropriate equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, including repairs and preventative maintenance for building systems and equipment.
  • Proficiency in multiple maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, and welding.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams (Senior Level).
  • Strong problem-solving skills for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment.
  • Experience with routine maintenance tasks, such as fixing flooring, walls, and ceilings.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising between facilities maintenance and customers.
  • Commitment to quality processes and adherence to safety standards.
  • Organizational skills for maintaining clean and orderly mechanical and electrical areas.
  • Experience working with outside contractors and managing snow removal as needed.
  • Ability to manage workload under supervision and drive facility improvement initiatives.
