Data Center Systems Thermal & Power Architect
Job Description:
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, product management, and business development teams to achieve exceptional business outcomes.
• Drive requirements for reference platforms and collaborate with engineering on internal and external execution balance.
• Lead strategies at workload and application levels internally and with industry partners/ecosystems.
• In-depth knowledge of computer architectures centered around CPUs.
• Strong experience with X86 architecture; familiarity with other CPU architectures is advantageous.
• Experience in developing platforms involving high-speed digital design and interconnects, with a comprehensive understanding of associated engineering tradeoffs.
• Proficiency in designing power and cooling infrastructures at datacenter and rack levels.
• Expertise in Networking & IO technologies such as Ethernet, Infiniband, SmartNics, Fabrics, NVMeoF, PCIe, CxL, and GenZ.
• Familiarity with Storage & Media technologies including Flash, Storage class memory, DDR, NVMe, NVMeoF, and NVM programming.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Background in designing datacenter Grid to Chip power and cooling infrastructures.
Candidates should possess extensive system technology backgrounds and a track record in developing and influencing strategic initiatives.
• Ability to translate workload and application trends into implications for system-on-chip (SOC), hardware (HW), and software (SW) stacks at rack level.
• Proficiency in translating highly technical concepts into actionable plans and conducting hands-on proof of concepts to gather data and insights.
• Strong communication skills essential for engaging with various internal and external stakeholders effectively.
• Skill in analyzing tradeoffs and making fact-based recommendations with significant technical, business, and financial impacts.
• Experience in developing platforms involving high-speed digital design, interconnects, and understanding engineering tradeoffs.
• Expertise in Networking & IO (Ethernet, Infiniband, SmartNics, Fabrics, NVMeoF, PCIe, CxL, GenZ) and Storage & Media (Flash, Storage class memory, DDR, NVMe, NVMeoF, NVM programming).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MS in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering. Ph.D is a plus.
- 15 years of experience developing power and cooling architecture for Data Center applications.
