Job Overview:
Continental Tide is seeking an experienced NDT Level II / Quality Assurance Inspector to support our Fleet Services Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing quality assurance inspections on Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems and electronic systems on US Navy Ships.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform Non-Destructive Testing in accordance with applicable specifications, standards, and company policies and procedures on shipboard structural and piping systems.
- Perform Quality Assurance Inspections associated with mechanical, structural, piping, and electrical repairs and installation of HM&E systems aboard ships.
- Review QAWB prior to start of work and after work is complete for completeness, accuracy and compliance with technical specifications and requirements.
- Perform other quality related tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Perform in process shipboard surveillances.
- Ensure proper completion and retention of OQE.
- Assist Program Managers, Project Managers, and Supervisors with NAVSEA Standard Item and other customer related requirements to ensure work is conducted accurately and safely.
- Monitor compliance with company Quality and Safety Management Systems, Workmanship standards and Customer requirements.
- Assist with the development of Test & Inspection Plans, Process Control Procedures, and Condition Reports as required.
- Maintain the Measuring and Monitoring Equipment (MME) Database including inspections, logging, and check-in/check-out of MME equipment.
- Perform duties outside of specialty to assist production in other ways as necessary (i.e., Fire Watch, Tank Watch, general cleaning, etc.).
Required Experience:
Requirements:
- Must possess a high school, trade or industrial school diploma or degree.
- 5-8 years of experience performing NDT inspections (VT, PT, MT) within AIT industry.
- 3-5 years of experience performing Quality Assurance/Control Inspections on board US Navy Ships.
- Certified NDT Level II Inspector (VT, PT, MT required).
- Detailed knowledge of shipboard/shipyard environment procedures, processes, methods, and techniques is a must.
- Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, government specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items is a must.
- Paint experience with a NBPI or NACE certification is a plus.
- Must have or have the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain base access and security credentials.
- Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
- Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
- Ability to wear a respirator may be required.
- Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
- Due to export control regulations, this role is open to U.S. citizens only.
