Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the accounting and financial reporting functions for our private equity funds. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in either Big 4 audit or tax roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements and reports for the private equity funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Fund Accounting: Maintain the books and records of the funds, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and valuation of investments.
- Audit Support: Assist with the coordination of annual financial audits and tax compliance, including providing necessary documentation and answering auditor inquiries.
- Taxation: Support tax compliance and reporting for the private equity funds, including calculations of fund-level and investor-level tax information.
- Investor Relations: Work closely with investors to address inquiries and provide accurate and timely financial information.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash flows, process capital calls, and distribute capital distributions to investors as per fund agreements.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Contribute to various projects, process improvements, and financial analyses as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in either Big 4 audit or tax roles.
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members and external parties.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
- An understanding of private equity and investment fund accounting is a plus but not required.
