Russell Tobin + Associates is currently seeking a Social Media Manager for our client in Los Angeles, CA. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team and gain valuable experience at a top entertainment and media company. This is a short-term role ended Jan. 31, 2025.
Job Title: Social Media Manager
Pay: $35.00 - 40.00/hour (based upon experience)
Duration: Contract until Jan. 31, 2025
Schedule: Monday – Friday // 40hrs/week
Location: HYBRID in LA/Studio City, CA (In office days: Tues + Wed)
Job Summary:
The Social Media Manager will drive social marketing efforts through content creation, community management, and promotional support. Key responsibilities include crafting strategic briefs, creating content calendars, managing social campaigns (concepts, scheduling, engagement, reporting), and leading social promotions, influencer outreach, and online events. This role will also explore new platforms to boost audience engagement, ratings, and brand awareness. As part of the Social Media team, the manager will support client strategies, engage daily with audiences, attract new followers, and manage crises quickly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content creation and Scheduling – Creates monthly content calendar, writes posts, coordinates creative assets, and schedules content for social media channels. Produces Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok Live events as needed. Responsible for writing tweets for in-show premieres and creating gifs as needed.
- Asset Management: Manages workflow and sends to vendors as needed.
- Asset Capture Ideation: Ideates and creates content capture for shows/movies based on trending social activations for IG Reels/TikTok but always in alignment with client's brand guidelines.
- Social media marketing – Actively grows the brand presence on social media networks including, but not limited to, X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and other strategically relevant online properties.
- Events and event planning – Attends industry events (often outside of 9-6 hours) and writes social coverage plans to attend screenings/junkets/events.
- Cross department relations-Ad Sales –Manages incoming requests for sponsored posts, manages workflow and post approvals, ensures all sponsored content goes up as planned and is approved. Compiles wrap-up reports for each campaign.
- Analytics – Uses social media measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Social Media Marketing.
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on social media marketing preferred.
- Previous experience in community management.
- Hands on experience with social media, and social media management tools, for brands
- Previous experience interpreting social analytics and online customer engagement metrics.
- Must be able to work during non-business hours and work on a Hybrid basis
- Strong familiarity with best practices related to online and social content promotions for media brands.
