AV Distribution Engineer

Position Summary:

The AV Distribution Engineer will be joining a highly successful and functional Audio Visual / Entertainment Team that supports the needs of Graton Resort & Casino. This position is responsible for the design and the oversight of all Audio Visual (A/V) and Low Voltage equipment and systems installations with the purpose of creating the best possible guest experience. This role will assist with the creation and implementation of standard operating procedures, as well as the creation and documentation of preventive maintenance procedures for installed Audio Visual and Low Voltage equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
• Use industry standards and best practices to help design and scope A/V and Low Voltage systems to meet property and end user’s needs. Assist with the oversight of installation and verification of A/V and Low Voltage equipment, video walls, signage displays, video distribution systems, low voltage cabling, and distributed antenna systems.
• Assists with the creation and documentation of best practices and standard operating procedures for A/V and Low Voltage equipment operation and repairs.
• Help identify and find solutions to potential problems pertaining to A/V system performance, support and reliability.
• Oversee the installation and repairs of low voltage cabling including fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, twisted pair, and coaxial cabling.
• Assist with the creation and oversight of preventive maintenance for A/V and Low Voltage systems and equipment. Manage maintenance logs to ensure that equipment has been serviced properly to ensure long-term performance.
• Monitor, operate and repair a variety of lighting dimming systems including Electronic Theater Control and Crestron Dimming.
• Assist with low level programming support including A/V control systems, audio DSP controls, and lighting controls.
• Receive and respond to incoming calls, and/or e-mails regarding A/V software/hardware problems.
• Oversee A/V and Low Voltage equipment inventory. Document changes made to A/V and Low Voltage systems. Update blueprints to include any changes or updates to these systems. Oversee A/V and Low Voltage equipment inventory. Ensure that commonly used items for repairs and installation are in stock and available.
• Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding Audio Visual and Low Voltage infrastructures.
• Technical support: Oversee Crestron system operations and functionality. Answering A/V help desk calls, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical advice.
• Require the availability for all shifts and hours to support casino business.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form
• Strong experience with Audio Visual and Low Voltage technologies, willing to meet the 24-hour demands of a successful Hotel/Casino operation
• Minimum of five (1) years’ experience with commercial Audio-Visual experience with technologies
• Has a passion for the Audio Visual and Low Voltage field, being able to learn new technologies in a rapidly evolving industry
• Experience with Low Voltage infrastructure, tools, and related test equipment. Be familiar with common practices with running or extending Low Voltage infrastructure
• Experience in AV systems installation, and troubleshooting/maintenance
• Familiarity with A/V control systems such as Crestron
• Excellent understanding of signal flow in both audio and video installations
• Background in commercial electronics, electrical, and a strong understanding of IP/networking skills area an advantage
• Must be at least 21 years of age
