Pomeroy is looking for an experienced Systems Admin to join their team in Cedar Knolls, NJ. This is a contract-hire role in a Data Center environment. Here, you will be responsible for the overall health and performance of the infrastructure with an emphasis on hardware.
Hourly pay rate: Up to $40-50/hr
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
- Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
- Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking that’s always up and running
- Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements
- Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, printers, phones, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
- Interact with the help desk and the global IT team to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
- Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
- Adjusts the architecture as necessary to meet changing program needs.
- Address 3rd level customer support issues escalated from the IT Operation; troubleshoot difficult cases, document resolution and share findings with the group.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, computer science or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in supporting IT infrastructures in a corporate/datacenter environment
- Experience working with Windows operating systems; enterprise backup and recovery procedures (Quantum Scalar i500), system performance-monitoring tools, Active Directory and access control lists
- Must have in depth knowledge of Office 365 administration with a background in Microsoft Exchange
- Hands on experience with whole disk encryption on laptops
- Extensive working knowledge of Macs and PCs
- Solid troubleshooting skills with the ability to think out of the box
- Team player with a proven track record to work independently and take full ownership of assigned tasks
- Able to multi-task a variety of duties and work requests
- Demonstrates an aptitude for continuous learning and personal development (intellectually curious)
- Relevant architecture experience, or progressively responsible technology work-related experience, to include a minimum of demonstrated IT architecture, design, and development experience.
