Job Description
The Data Governance Lead is responsible to champion our vision for information management, build an information-aware culture, and ensure that our data governance practices are aligned with our strategic objectives. They will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of data governance and management program elements. This role will ensure that data is managed effectively, ethically, and securely, and that it supports the organization’s mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and operationalize the data stewardship program.
- Develop and operationalize the data quality continuous improvement program, including the assessment, measurement, improvement, or remediation of data performance and quality.
- Develop and operationalize other relevant data management programs, including policies, procedures, and rules to manage information and data across the lifecycle.
- Organize the information governance council and its meetings.
- Assign and educate data stewards.
- Ensure that information is managed in line with statutory and administrative obligations.
- Support and align information management with organizational drivers, needs, and strategic objectives.
- Improve stewardship of information and increase its value as an operational and strategic asset.
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place to secure information.
Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in data, analytics, or governance role
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of data protection laws, intellectual property rights, and governance policies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
- Experience with data governance tools and technologies.
Additional Information
For California, Colorado, New York, Washington, and remote roles: The compensation range for this role is $127,260 - $203,620. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
